Venue:

The Darlington Arts Centre.
Vane Terrace,
Darlington.
DL3 7AX.

The Arts Centre was due to close this year because of reduced funding. Strength of feeling for the centre is such that a working party has been formed and, with the help of Darlington Council, the centre has been given one additional year’s life.

It is a stunning, Victorian style, former teacher training college and with its open plan café-bar & restaurant, art galleries and social spaces lying opposite the tree lined Stanhope Park, a charming and comfortable venue for the 3rd. Darlington Folk Music Weekend.

Close to Darlington town centre, it offers an ideal environment for a relaxed weekend for aspiring and more experienced musicians, singers & dancers alike. The café-bar serves delicious lunches, dinners & drinks of all descriptions. These will be available to purchase throughout the weekend.

The Arts Centre main entrance is ramped and there is level access to the Theatre, East Hall, Lounge and other ground floor rooms. There is now a lift up to the Garden Bar. There are adapted toilets suitable for wheelchair users, and people with mobility difficulties, on the ground floor in the Lounge.

Although the weekend is based at the Arts Centre, the workshops will take place in the adjoining Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.
