Join this popular weekend, in its fourth year, to celebrate Folk & Traditional Music with Workshops, Ceilidh and Sessions with top quality tutors and musicians.

Sadly, Darlington Arts Centre will close this year, and we have moved to a new home.

Durham School, situated directly opposite Durham Cathedral & Castle, is a delightful traditional complex of stone built Victorian buildings in its own grounds, offering warm, cosy accommodation for a relaxed Music Weekend for aspiring and more experienced musicians, singers and dancers.

The School has full catering facilities for coffees, lunches and dinners which can be purchased throughout the Weekend.

We have an additional Band Workshop, The Elvet Ensemble, which will explore Traditional Music without Boundaries!

Ian Lowthian Accordion Folk Degree tutor. Recorded with Mark Knopfler
Carolyn Robson Vocals Nationally renowned tutor - 'Craig Morgan Robson'.
Martin Dunn Flute & Whistle Specialist in both European and American music.
Robin Dunn Mixed Instruments 'Fiddler's Elbow' band - An outstanding composer.
Sandra Kerr English Concertina Newcastle University Folk Degree Lecturer
Will Hampson Melodeon Demon Barbers”. “Bryony Griffith” and “Bedlam”

Band Workshops:
Stewart Hardy Concert band Freelance perfomer and tutor.
Kerry Fletcher & Karen Tweed Band with dance Kerry is a nationally renowned dancer and Folkworks tutor. Karen Is a Folk degree tutor best known for her work with 'Swåp' and 'The Poozies'.
Patsy Seddon Band with Song 'The Poozies', the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
David Oliver Ceilidh Band Freelance education project & ceilidh band leader.
Julian Taylor Elvet Ensemble Community musician, band & workshop leader.

Cost:

 £120 per person.
Includes all workshops, sessions, concerts and ceilidh.
